The Annual Keiki Fishing Tournament
The Friends of Hickam Annual Keiki Fishing Tournament has become a traditional event for the children and families of the 15th Wing at Hickam Air Force Base. In 2019, we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of this Tournament, held at the Hoo’maluhia Botanical Gardens in Kaneohe, Oahu.
This is a wonderful outing for children from 5 to 12 years of age. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, with a maximum of 3 children per adult. The Tournament is a wonderful outing for the kids, especially for those who have never caught a fish on their own before. It is a catch-and-release tournament, so children can enjoy the thrill of fishing while the fish can continue to thrive for future generations. It is usually held on the day after the last day of public schools; so join us for fun, thrills, and happy memories. The Tournament is open to the first 200 children who sign up.
This event sponsored by the Friends of Hickam is entirely free, and includes the following:
- Transportation from Hickam to Hoomaluhia and back
- All fishing poles and bait
- Lunch on arrival ( Food, drinks and snacks)
- Prizes and trophies
- Lots of fun and memories to last a lifetime ?
